| hi to all from dark, dreary wash.... i mean, steeler!....pa.
i can say honestly that it's been an intensely stressful week, what with musical rehearsals picking up steam and fuselier deciding that it's a good idea to pound all of us with pointless garbage busywork. it's amusing to me at this point, because no one actually takes any assignment in that class seriously. the only thing i enjoy is that we're reading henry james at the moment; and i find his work to be quite a good read. aside from that? i've pretty much come to the conclusion that i'll be buried under 93 pounds of useless paperwork until june.
as far as the musical goes, all is going as well as it could be, all things considered. one of the lead cast members has yet to be at more than one rehearsal, most of us still haven't learned all of our lines and most of us haven't sold any ads (myself included... oops), the director(s) have yet to finish blocking about 1/3 of the show, and no one ever has any clue as to what's going on. ...did i mention that the show is in a month?
ah, well. it'll come together. i don't really feel much like whining more than i already did.
how's everything with everyone? no one posts too much anymore, so i can't silently (and mildly obsessively) track your life events anymore.
i'm not sure if i was joking or being serious about that last part....hmph.
| so i haven't updated this in an incredibly long time. terribly sorry!
to summarize (and pick up where i left off), though we made states for one-act, we didn't get to go. the school cancelled the trip because of the awful weather that weekend. and we'd just trained a new guy to take over nick standish (who had wrestling that weekend)'s part. Christmas break was fantastic, and went by way too quickly... and i saw Phantom of the Opera, my favorite musical, with kubin! it was decent, though since i'd already seen it in its home theatre in toronto, it didn't quite compare.
now it's just back to the old grind. trinity's as awful and cesspool-like as ever. not worth talking about. however, i'm currently performing in the Shakespeare Play as Ophelia from Hamlet, which is enjoyable. i'm also Aunt Eller in the school musical, Oklahoma. i'm admittedly not a huge Oklahoma fan, so i'm kind of tolerating it for the time being until i make myself learn to like it... i'll keep you posted on the progression of that.
there's a really, really short summary of how life has been in the world-o-brenna. hope second semester is going well for all of you in college.

| the One-Act Play of 2005, The Bald Soprano...
....is going to States.
i'm excited! and so unbelievably proud of everybody.
| same bat time, same bat place...
i don't know why i'm updating, really. i felt compelled to make a pointless entry.
exactly 12 days until one-act. let the pre-show-stressing begin.
the weather is gloomy. sunny and warm one day, cold and rainy the next. i just wish it would bloody snow so i could go skiing.
school/daily life has turned into one giant version of office space, in my opinion. not sure how i feel about that one way or the other. if i could only find a red swingline...
adios, all. until later.
| nothing overly new or exciting going on here. for you former trinity-ites, there has been a veritable epidemic of fights recently. there were 3 or 4 in one day last week, and this morning there was one outside my homeroom (the library). yeah. a fight at 7:30 in the morning. *sighs. be glad you got out when you did.
jenn's looking at geneva next week... and i hope she likes it. we've been discussing the possibility of us rooming together if she decides to go there(scary, i know). as for me? my decision has basically been made; but an overnight in the spring will make that final, one way or the other. i'll let you know.
exactly 19 days until one-act!
hope all you college folk are faring well. and my fellow high school-ians, too.
until next time. | | |
